Guest worker dead, another injured in workplace accident

AMMAN — One guest worker died and another was injured on Thursday after a stone cutting machine fell on them in a quarry in Irbid’s industrial city, the Public Security Department (PSD) said.

Irbid Civil Defence Department (CDD) personnel dealt with the incident, which caused severe head injuries for one worker, killing him instantly, while the other was injured in different parts of his body.

CDD personnel used special equipment to free both workers who were stuck under the machine, administered first aid to the injured man and took him to hospital, where he was reported to be in fair condition.
