AMMAN — The Ministry of Environment, the Cities and Villages Development Bank and the Global Green Growth Institute on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to grant the bank accreditation from the Green for Growth Fund (GGF). Under the agreement, the bank will get ministry support to fund projects to combat climate change.
The accreditation will also allow the development bank to directly receive aid from the GGF in order to implement projects in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
It will also enable the bank to manage, supervise and implement the projects. The GGF has previously worked with the government to prepare Jordan to receive funds to combat climate change, according to Petra.
