Green building houses new Judicial Institute offices

AMMAN – Public Works Minister Sami Halaseh and Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni on Tuesday laid the corner stone for the Judicial Institute building, according to a statement from the Public Works Ministry.

The project is funded by a JD7.85-million grant from the EU and to be built on a land of 6,300 square metres. Talhouni said the project is part of endeavours to support and develop the judicial system in the Kingdom as it will be reflected on the quality of services for people and judges.

Halaseh said the new headquarters of the Judicial Institute are classified as a green building that includes a solar power system, thermal insulation and water harvesting, in addition to using eco-friendly materials.

EU Ambassador to Jordan Andrea Matteo Fontana said the funding to the new building is part of bilateral cooperation that seeks to enhance judicial services and boost rule of law.
