AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Wednesday issued a communiqué outlining the adjusted working hours for government employees during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Starting on the first day of Ramadan, the official working hours will be from 9:30am to 3pm, according to a Prime Ministry statement.
The new schedule will apply across all ministries, government departments, public institutions, universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and state-owned enterprises.
These hours will remain in effect throughout Ramadan, reverting to regular timings once the month concludes, the statement said.
The communiqué excludes employees whose work conditions require otherwise. In such cases, department heads will coordinate adjusted schedules.
The prime minister stressed the importance of respecting the values of Ramadan and being mindful of the needs and sensitivities of those observing the fast.
