AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz on Tuesday instructed the concerned authorities to enforce the penalties set forth in the defence orders against public entities and agencies that failed to adhere to public safety and preventive measures.
The premier had ordered to conduct surprise visits to government institutions, check employees and service recipients' commitment to preventive measures, notably wearing face masks, temperature checks at entry, physical distancing and the use of the “Aman” (Safety) application for smartphones, which alerts users if they come into contact with a COVID-19 positive person.
The visits of the tasked teams detected "flagrant" violations in nine departments and institutions and they were reported to the prime minister.
The premier ordered an immediate enforcement of penalties set out in the relevant defence orders with “no leniency”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Razzaz also had ordered the Audit Bureau, internal control units, and the "Mystery Shopper" programme to conduct surprise visits and carry out continuous inspection campaigns in all government institutions and departments to determine the extent of their compliance.
