AMMAN — As part of Jordan's digital transformation efforts, the government is working to prepare public sector institutions to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and innovative technological solutions, according to Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh. During a panel session at the Arab Public Administration Forum, organised by the Arab League's Arab Organisation for Administrative Development in partnership with the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the Dubai-held World Government Summit, Hanandeh emphasised the need for Arab governments to focus on enhancing technological and digital skills across all sectors and ensure their alignment with local, regional and global market demands. He also highlighted Jordan's progress in the 2023 Government AI Readiness Index, as reported by Oxford Insights, noting that the Kingdom secured the 55th position out of 193 countries worldwide. This achievement is in line with Jordan's strategic vision for AI and its 2023-2027 executive plan, he said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
