AMMAN — The government is keen on supporting the Jordan Academy of Arabic to help it achieve its goals of safeguarding the Arabic language, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said Tuesday.
During a visit to the academy, Ensour noted that the facility plays a role in protecting Arabic language and heritage.
Khalid Karaki, president of the academy, expressed his appreciation for the Cabinet for drafting a law to safeguard Arabic, which was recently endorsed by Parliament, with the aim of adopting standard Arabic in public, media and academic institutions.
