Gov’t allocates JD1.2m to revamp houses at Palestinian refugee camps

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday decided to allocate JD1.2 million to implement the fifth phase of a project to rehabilitate housing units in Palestinian refugee camps.
The decision was made upon His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives to meet the needs of refugees during his visits to camps, the latest of which was to Baqaa Refugee Camp.
The Cabinet also tasked the Electricity Regulatory Commission with monitoring electricity distribution and power generation companies to ensure they apply mid-term strategies.
The commission was also tacked with studying the impact of raising electricity tariffs on electricity companies.
