AMMAN — The German ambassador on Tuesday announced a 10 million euro contribution from his country’s government to UNICEF for children affected by the Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan, according to a UNICEF statement.
“We must help children live a normal life to the largest extent possible under current circumstances.
These children are the future of Syria,” the statement quoted German Ambassador to Jordan Ralph Tarraf as saying during a visit to the Zaatari Refugee Camp, where he shared iftar with young Syrians.
Germany’s contribution will be used for education, child protection and youth activities in 2014 and 2015, under the “No Lost Generation” initiative, the statement said.
