AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat on Tuesday said Jordan opened its schools to Syrian children and others, regardless of their nationalities, religions or ethnicities.
At a meeting with a German delegation representing the ministries of development and finance, Thneibat said there are some 145,000 Syrian students in public schools, noting that around 50,000 new Syrian students will also be enrolled in schools.
The German delegates praised the advanced level of education services Jordan presents to refugee students, stressing their government’s commitment to supporting sectors affected by the refugee influx, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
