AMMAN — German Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Carsten Breuer on Sunday awarded Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti the Badge of Honour of the Bundeswehr.
Huneiti received the medal in recognition of his role in boosting military cooperation between the two countries, most notably for the support provided by the Jordan Armed Forces Arab Army (JAF) to German forces amid Sudan's civil war military evacuations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Gen. Breuer praised the "deep and strategic" partnership and cooperation between the Jordanian and German armed forces, highlighting the importance of further enhancing bilateral relations and joint military coordination.
The medal, which represents the highest military honour of the German army, was awarded during a ceremony that was attended by the German charge d'affaires, the German defence attaché and senior JAF officers.
