Geologists plan sit-in over move to make geology pass-fail subject

AMMAN — The Jordan Geologists Association on Saturday announced it will organise a sit-in next Saturday to protest the Education Ministry’s decision to exclude geology from the main subjects of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi).

The association said the sit-in will be organised near Le Royal Hotel where an educational development conference will be held by the Education Ministry, which “refused to discuss the decision with the syndicate”, making geology a pass-fail subject. The sit-in will start at 9:30am.
