GAM opens slaughterhouse to meet market needs during curfew

AMMAN — Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh on Friday announced that a slaughterhouse at the municipality’s slaughterhouse directorate will open starting on Saturday from 7:30am to 4pm.

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Spokesperson Nasser Rahmaneh said that meat processing and inspection at the slaughterhouse will be carried out under the supervision of veterinarians to ensure that the meat is fit for human consumption. Rahmaneh added that the opening of the slaughterhouse aims to supply fresh meat to meet market needs while maintaining a balance in prices.

The GAM slaughterhouse has met all health requirements under veterinary supervision, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
