GAM, IEC discuss preparations for local elections

AMMAN — President of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) committee Yousef Shawarbeh on Monday met with the Independent Election Commission (IEC) President Khaled Kalaldeh to discuss preparations for GAM’s council elections, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shawarbeh stressed the municipality’s support for the IEC to hold the elections.

For his part, Kalaldeh said that the meeting is part of IEC’s efforts to acquaint all partners with procedures for holding local council elections, slated for August 15, and the necessary assistance they can offer.
