AMMAN — Amman Attorney General Hasan Abdallat on Wednesday issued a gag order prohibiting media coverage of the recent altercation at the University of Jordan (UJ) to preserve the integrity of the investigation and ensure due process.
Abdallat said the order applies to all media outlets and social media platforms, banning the publication or circulation of any information related to the case, whether during the Public Prosecution’s initial investigation or proceedings before internal university committees, until all investigations are fully concluded.
The decision took immediate effect upon its issuance and notification to the relevant authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
