Fraudulent faith healing group busted for online scams — PSD

AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) teams have arrested members of a group over charges of witchcraft and fraud after conning people with claims of healing powers through social media and websites, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Saturday.

PSD spokesperson said that CID personnel followed up on complaints about suspects who convinced their victims that “black magic caused them damage”, and subsequently offered spiritual and psychological treatment in exchange for money, according to a PSD statement.

CID agents identified the suspects’ locations and arrested them and referred them to the judiciary, the PSD spokesperson added.
