Former finance minister Mohammad Dabbas passes away

AMMAN — Former finance minister Mohammad Abdul Razaq Dabbas died on Thursday.

Born in Salt in 1927, Dabbas assumed many posts, including director general of the Income and Sales Tax Department and the State Budget Department.

He served as finance minister between 1976 and 1979.

Dabbas obtained a master’s degree in economics from the University of Texas and another MA degree in administration from the University of California.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour paid tribute to Dabbas.
