Foreign minister, Yemen's Alimi discuss bilateral relations, regional developments

AMMAN — Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Mohammed Al Alimi on Saturday met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

During the meeting, Safadi conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to Alimi and reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for the legitimate government of Yemen, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

He stressed the importance of preserving Yemen's security and stability and the need for a political solution to the crisis based on internationally recognised frameworks that uphold Yemen's sovereignty.

Discussions also focused on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional developments.

Alimi conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah and underlined the "deep-rooted" ties between Yemen and Jordan.

He also stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two countries.
