FM, UN special envoy for Yemen discuss peace efforts 

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg on Monday overviewed efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

Safadi welcomed the two-month truce in Yemen, forged in April,  reiterating the Kingdom’s support for the UN’s efforts towards resolving the Yemeni crisis through the accredited references and the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, emphasising the Kingdom’s continued support for the Amman-based UN mission for Yemen.

Highlighting the importance of strengthening efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, Safadi expressed appreciation for the Saudi and UAE efforts towards safeguarding their security and stability, stressing that the security of Gulf countries is part of Jordan's security.

Grundberg reviewed the latest developments and efforts to end the crisis, expressing appreciation for the Kingdom’s role in maintaining regional security and stability, notably hosting the office of the UN special envoy for Yemen and the headquarters of the UN Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA). 

He also welcomed the Kingdom's decision approving the operation of Yemen Airways flights from Sanaa International Airport to Queen Alia International Airport, urging the Yemeni parties to work constructively to allow flights to resume as planned.
