AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received phone calls from his Swedish and Danish counterparts, Ann Linde and Jeppe Kofod respectively, during which they exchanged views on the region’s increasing tensions derived from the standoff between the US and Iran.

Safadi, the Swedish foreign minister and the Danish foreign minister affirmed their shared positions on intensifying international efforts to pacify escalation and solve the crisis through political dialogue, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The diplomats also stressed their support for the stability and security of Iraq, and their keenness to maintain the cohesion of the Global Coalition against the Daesh terror group.
