AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday held two separate telephone calls with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al Mekdad.
During the calls, Safadi expressed the Kingdom's condolences over the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck multiple regions in southern Turkey and northern Syria, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Safadi emphasised the Kingdom's “unwavering solidarity” with the two neighbouring countries impacted by the earthquake, and wished the injured a speedy recovery. As per His Majesty King Abdullah's directives, Jordan will provide immediate assistance to support the rescue and relief efforts in both countries, Safadi told his Turkish and Syrian counterparts.
