FM meets US special envoy for Yemen

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking on Sunday overviewed efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis through the accredited references and the relevant international legitimacy resolutions. Safadi highlighted the importance of strengthening efforts to end the Yemeni crisis.

He also highlighted the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis, to protect the Yemeni people and the entire region from the repercussions of the crisis, according to a ministry statement.

The minister reiterated the Kingdom's support to the Saudi initiative aimed to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis and to the UN's efforts to end the conflict. Lenderking praised the Kingdom's role in hosting the office of the UN special envoy for Yemen and Amman's role in supporting endeavours to enhance regional security and stability.
