AMMAN — A book fair titled “Our Mother Amman… A City that Reads” opened at the Ras Al Ain Hangar on Thursday, offering some 5,000 English and Arabic titles.
The five-day fair is organised by Uzbakiyet Amman in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality and features other activities such as book signings and cultural seminars.
Exhibition supervisor Ghazi Theibeh said the majority of the books are sold at between JD0.10 and JD3, while prices that exceed that are still 30 per cent lower than bookshop prices.
