AMMAN — A military official on Sunday said Border Guards on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt by seven people, who tried to cross from Syria into Jordan.
The source added that troops followed the rules of engagement, which resulted in arresting five people, one of whom was injured, while the other two fled back into Syrian territories, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Border guards seized 318,000 Captagon pills, 637 palm-sized sheets of hashish and an automatic gun that were in the suspects’ possession, the official source said, adding that the arrested people and seized items were referred to the relevant authorities.
