AMMAN — Newly elected governorate councils across Jordan are scheduled to hold their first meetings today at 10am, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Interior Minister Ghaleb Zu'bi has directed local governors to summon the councils in accordance with Article 33 of the Decentralisation Law 2015.
According to the law, the first meetings will include electing the presidents of the councils, in addition to their deputies and assistants, as well as forming committees.
