First Jordanian women doctor's conference kicks off

AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Prince Hassan, the first Jordanian women doctor's conference titled "The Jordanian Woman Doctor: Excellence, Creativity, Leadership" kicked off on Wednesday, in the presence of HRH Princess Dina, the Jordanian News Agency, Petra, reported. 

In a recorded speech, the prince said that the Jordanian health sector exerted great efforts during the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, highlighting the role of women doctors as partners in realising this achievement 

The princess also called for facing the challenges facing the health sector, which requires reflecting on the global medical system as a whole. 

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Administrative and Technical Affairs Elham Khreisat described the role of Jordanian women in the health sector as “distinguished and significant”.

Maysam Akroush, head of the conference, said that the three-day conference aims to shed light on the achievements made by Jordanian women doctors at the local and international levels.

She indicated that the conference includes many lectures, scientific discussions and training sessions for female doctors on leadership, interactive dialogue, global medicine in light of the coronavirus pandemic, and the role of the media in aiding the health sector.

Akroush referred to the role of transparent medical media, highlighting that promoting medical achievements encourages medical tourism to Jordan.
