Finance minister reiterates gov’t support for RJ

AMMAN — Finance Minister Umayya Toukan on Saturday said the government is committed to supporting Royal Jordanian (RJ).
In a visit to national carrier, the minister, who also heads a committee that appoints the government’s representatives on companies’ boards, called for taking all the necessary measures to pay RJ’s dues to its shareholders.
Toukan also met with RJ Chairman Suleiman Hafez and discussed a number of financial, administrative and technical issues of concern to the airline, including efforts to address accumulated losses.
