AMMAN — The opening of an e-service centre at the Department of Lands and Survey is “an important step” towards modernisation, Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ said on Monday.
During the opening ceremony of the centre, Al-Ississ expressed his keenness to automate all the department's services to minimise citizens' in-person visits to the department, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Director-General of the Income and Sales Tax Department and Acting Director-General of the Department of Lands and Survey, Hussam Abu Ali, highlighted the importance of e-services in speeding transactions, especially those related to the transfer of ownership and obtaining documents.
In the project’s first phase, the department’s 20 most in-demand services were targeted, he said.
Abu Ali expressed thanks to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the USAID-funded Public Financial Management Project for supporting the centre’s launch.
