AMMAN - Minister of Finance Mohamad Al-Ississ on Monday met with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Mait to discuss enhancing cooperation in the financial, tax and customs sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, they emphasised the importance of coordination and the exchange of expertise in the fields of government information management systems, e-commerce and tax cooperation.
They agreed to develop an agreement to avoid double taxation that was signed between Jordan and Egypt.
They also focused on the challenges and obstacles facing trade and the flow of goods between Jordan and Egypt.
The two ministers examined the possibility of reaching a joint financial cooperation agreement and launching talks between the ministries of finance in Jordan and Egypt aimed to follow up on financial developments at regional and international levels, their repercussions on the economies of the countries, and the coordination required to confront them.
