Fifth Children’s Film Week opens
Apr 06,2015 - Last updated at Apr 06,2015
AMMAN — The fifth Children’s Film Week opened on Monday at a ceremony attended by Culture Minister Lana Mamkegh, who was deputising for HRH Princess Rym Ali, according to a Royal Film Commission (RFC) statement.
The week, which concludes on Thursday, includes the screening of films from Jordan, Spain, Egypt, China, France, Algeria and Palestine.
The movies provide “both awareness and entertainment”, while introducing children to different cultures, the RFC said.
The event is organised by the RFC and Zaha Cultural Centre.
The commission has also organised its fifth “Digital Filmmaking Workshop for Children”, which introduces participants to the basics of filmmaking.
As a result of this workshop, two short films — written and directed by the children themselves — have been produced and were screened at the week’s opening ceremony.
