AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday received Greek Ambassador to Jordan Eleftheria Galathianaki and discussed regional developments and ways to strengthen Jordanian-Greek bilateral relations.
Fayez reviewed the implications of the Syrian crisis and its impact on Jordan and the economic challenges facing the Kingdom due to the reception of about 1,500,000 Syrian refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He stressed that stability and security will be achieved only by resolving the Palestinian cause fairly and comprehensively in accordance with international legitimacy decisions and on the basis of a two-state solution.
He noted that Jordan today is secure and politically strong, but faces economic difficulties due to regional conditions.
He highlighted the distinguished and close relations between Jordan and Greece based on mutual respect and the interests of both countries.
