Fayez meets with USAID acting mission director

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday met USAID Acting Mission Director Margaret Spears over the Public Financial Management and Administration (PFMA).

Fayez, during the meeting, highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts towards supporting women, youth and persons with disabilities, “which allowed qualitative shifts in legislative reforms, notably those related to social security laws, personal status, penalties and employment”, he noted.

Spears went over the main aspects of the five-year PFMA, for 2021-2025, expressing the project’s keenness to collaborate with the Senate committees on public finance and women’s rights and freedoms, over amending policies and laws related to public finance, a gender-responsive budget (youth, women and persons with disabilities) and gender equality, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
