‘Father runs daughter over by accident’

AMMAN — A two-year-old girl died on Monday when her father ran her over while driving the car on reverse, not noticing she was behind the vehicle, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The girl was dead on arrival, Ghor Safi Hospital Director Mahmoud Ouneh said. Also on Monday, a child died in a house in Aqaba, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).

CDD firefighters controlled the blaze, which was caused by an electrical short circuit, according to the CDD.
