AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraya and Norwegian Minister of Justice Emilie Enger on Monday discussed ways of enhancing ties between the two countries in law, economy and politics.
Faraya emphasised Norway’s critical support to Jordan regarding the Syrian refugee crisis, infrastructure, ongoing projects and programmes under the national development priorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Faraya stressed that Jordan has dealt with the Syrian refugee crisis on the world’s behalf, despite of its small economy and limited resources, pointing to a remarkable decrease in international support for the Kingdom’s response plan, which did not exceed 6 per cent of its funding requirements during the first quarter of this year.
Enger stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan, commending its approach in economic and political reforms and the hosting of refugees in spite of its economic hardships.
