Fakhoury discusses National Statistics Strategy with experts

AMMAN — Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury on Saturday met with experts responsible for evaluating and revising the National Statistics Strategy, the ministry said in a statement.

The minister stressed the importance of preparing a statistics strategy for 2017-2021 which will contribute to achieving national priorities, in line with the Vision 2025, sustainable development goals and the results of the 2015 census.

The census, which was conducted electronically, is a success story that reflects the advanced level of the statistics organisations in the Kingdom, the minister said. Discussions covered the outcomes of the experts’ evaluation after a five-day visit, in which they held meetings at departments concerned with statistics at ministries and public, private and civil society institutions, the statement said.
