AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Prince Raad, an exhibition recently launched to showcase the Jordan Trail through the photography and paintings of artists, according to a joint statement sent to The Jordan Times.

Organised by iJordan, the Orient Gallery and the Jordan Trail Association, the “Stories from Jordan Trail” exhibition is the first fundraising project to promote the work of amateur and professional artists who have portrayed the Jordan Trail through paintings and photography.

The exhibition was curated to share the breath-taking views of the Jordan trail to encourage more people to hike the trail and experience its diverse cultures, historic places and traditions.

The Jordan Trail is a long distance hike connecting Umm Qais in the north to Aqaba in the south. The trail winds through wooded hills, the ancient city of Petra and the mountains of Wadi Rum to the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea.

The exhibition includes artists Ammar Khammash; a celebrated architect and accomplished artist, Leonardo Antonio Avezzano; an adventure photographer that has been featured in National Geographic and Lens Culture, Ali Barqawi; an internationally published photographic artist, as well as many more.

Chairman of the Jordan Trail Association, Ramzi Tabbalat, said in the statement that “it has been an incredible experience for us to witness the Jordan Trail being portrayed in different artistic manners by these talented people, who have been on this journey with us and want to share the beauty and awe that is Jordan”.

Hala Jardaneh, the managing director of the Orient Gallery, added that “the ‘Stories from Jordan Trail’ [exhibition] is a unique perspective of art as it is the artist that is using their talent and skills to encourage and promote the beauty that is already present in Jordan”.

“We hope this exhibition will encourage people in Jordan to take more adventures and follow the paths that are brimming with art and history,” said Tabbalat.

The exhibition will run until January 31, at the Orient Gallery and is open to public. All proceeds from the sales of the exhibition will go towards the Jordan Trail Association to support their initiatives and activities, according to the statement.
