AMMAN — The Ministry of Environment on Monday launched the Green Growth National Action Plan 2021-2025 (GG-NAP).
“The Ministry of Environment, with the support of Global Green Growth Institute, has developed the Jordan Green Growth National Action Plan targetting Jordan’s key green growth sectors including agriculture, energy, waste, water, tourism and transport, mainly to support Jordan’s economic growth and build sustainable development sectors that strengthen resilience to climate change and catastrophic events such as the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Minister of Environment and Acting Minister of Agriculture Saleh Kharabsheh.
“The action plan helps mainstream green growth, climate change and sustainable development into the sectoral planning and implementation frameworks as it is the cornerstone for shifting towards green growth that is environmentally sustainable, which can lead to more sustainable economic growth, reducing poverty and unemployment,” the minister added.
