Environment Ministry endorses regulations on plastic bags

AMMAN — The Environment Ministry on Sunday endorsed regulations on importing and producing plastic bags.

According to Minister Taher Shakshir, the regulations, which will go into effect after they are published in the Official Gazette, seek to preserve the environment, the economy and public health, and to eliminate the adverse effects of non-biodegradable products.
