Entrepreneurship key to economic growth — Fayez

AMMAN — Business entrepreneurship is an important driver for economic growth, Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Thursday.

Inaugurating the "Innovation Dome International Forum for Improvement and Sustainable Development", under the theme of "Business Entrepreneurship: Exploring Opportunities and Administrating Challenges", Fayez said that Jordan prioritises business entrepreneurship as a result of technological advancements and globalisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

During the opening ceremony, the president highlighted the importance of guiding youth towards creating new, innovative ideas that contribute to sustainable development, urging stakeholders to embrace and make use of ideas from youth.

He also called on official institutions to support youth and their innovative projects, highlighting the need for successive governments to encourage young people to work in the private sector.

Fayez also reiterated the significance of incubating creative initiatives and providing a supportive environment for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

For his part, Rani Omari, the general manager and founder of Innovation Dome Consulting and Training, stressed that entrepreneurship is among the most important bases for economic development, highlighting that the forum aims at exploring opportunities and addressing challenges in the entrepreneurship sector in Jordan.
