Ensour briefed on Al Bashir Hospital expansion

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour visited Al Bashir Hospital on Monday and reviewed the facility’s ongoing expansion project.
The third phase of the project included the internal medicine, surgery and X-ray buildings, in addition to new surgical theatres, a pharmacy, a rehabilitation and physiotherapy department, and intensive care and cardiac care units.
Health Minister Ali Hiasat said there are currently 1,100 beds, expandable to 1,500 beds, at the hospital, which has 850 doctors, 250 of whom are specialists.
Also on Monday, the premier visited the Jordan Food and Drug Administration and the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology, where he stressed the importance of boosting cooperation between all monitoring entities.
