Embassies offer condolences over victims of Jabal Luweibdeh building collapse

AMMAN — The embassies of the US, the UK and Switzerland expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the building collapse in Amman’s Jabal Luweibdeh neighbourhood.
“The US Embassy in Jordan extends our deepest condolences to the families of all who passed away in the building collapse in the Al Weibdeh area in Amman. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this tragedy. #Jordan is our home and we grieve with our Jordanian neighbours and friends. We pray for the recovery of survivors and the safety of the rescue workers,” the US embassy said in a statement on Twitter.
“At our own time of National Mourning we offer our deep condolences to the families of all who lost their lives in the tragic collapse of a building in Jabal Al Weibdeh area of #Amman last night. Our thoughts & sympathies are with all those affected,” the UK embassy said in a statement on Twitter.
“We are deeply sorrowed by the tragedy of the building collapse in the Al Weibdeh area in Amman last night. Switzerland expresses its most sincere and profound condolences to the families of all who passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy,” the Swiss embassy said in a statement.
