Electoral commission urges involvement of political parties

AMMAN — The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) on Wednesday held a meeting with political parties, supported by the UNDP and the EU.

During the meeting, Mohammad Masalha, a member of the IEC board, highlighted the role political parties play as a partner in raising public awareness on the election process. He urged parties to provide the IEC with feedback on any elections it administers.

Also speaking at the meeting, Samar Haj Hassan, another member of the IEC board, said an updated, accurate voter list is the first step towards democratic elections.
