AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, chairman of the Arab Thought Forum, on Tuesday attended a celebration to launch the eight volumes of Al Qibla newspaper.
The newspaper began publishing under directives by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali in Mecca with the start of the Great Arab Revolt and the establishment of the Hashemite Arab State in 1916. Its last issue was published in 1924, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The volumes, whose preface was written by Prince Hassan on the occasion of the Revolt centennial, document milestones of the modern Arab renaissance. The prince, during the launch ceremony held at the National Library Department, stressed the need to restore enlightenment to the Arab region.
