Eight arrested over arson attack at Irbid car rental

AMMAN — Northern region Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have arrested eight people suspected of burning three vehicles and damaging two others belonging to the owner of a car rental office. The incident is related to financial disputes between the cars’ owner and one of the suspects, the Public Security Department’s (PSD) media centre said on Thursday.

The incident dates back to last December, when Irbid PSD received a complaint about cars burnt and damaged at a rental office in Hoson area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. An investigation by CID personnel eventually resulted in the arrest of two suspects, who confessed to committing the crime with six other accomplices. The case was referred to court.
