Egypt PM receives House speaker, stresses tripartite cooperation with Iraq

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Thursday met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday in Cairo, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Safadi noted that Jordanian parliamentary delegation’s participation in the work of the Arab Parliament aims to enhance Arab food security.

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, Jordan endeavours to bolster Arab solidarity, Safadi said, adding that for this purpose, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq cooperated to achieve economic integration.

Safadi highlighted the role that parliaments play to overcome legislative obstacles to the Jordanian, Egyptian and Iraqi economic integration projects.

Madbouly lauded the continuous development of bilateral relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, referring to the existing joint work between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism.

Madbouly stressed the importance of cooperation to provide better living standards for the people of the two countries, especially in regard to social protection amid difficult global conditions.

Underlining the role of parliaments in consolidating relations between the two countries, Madbouly pointed to the close cooperation between the Egyptian and Jordanian parliaments.
