AMMAN — Minister of State for Legal Affairs Wafa Bani Mustafa on Sunday said that the Economic Modernisation Vision has made women’s participation in the labour market a main pillar of economic growth.

Participating in a discussion panel on women at the Cabinet, Bani Mustafa called for improving the empowering environment that allows women and youth to receive better jobs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

She also referred to the keenness of the ministerial committee on women empowerment to move forward with applying the vision aspects and integrating women in the vision. For her part, CEO of the Jordan Strategy Forum Nisreen Barakat said that women’s participation in the economic forum workshops reached 25 per cent out of 177 members.

She noted that women headed more than 53 per cent of work teams in 17 sectors.
