AMMAN — Jordan has had a firm position regarding the Syrian crisis since its onset, MP Abdulkarim Dughmi stated on Wednesday. The Kingdom has always called for a political solution that can preserve the unity of the country and guarantee a safe and voluntary return of refugees, Dughmi added.
During a meeting with the acting charge d’affaires of the Syrian embassy Issam Yanal, Dughmi, who is head of the Jordanian parliamentary friendship committee with Iraq, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, stressed that the Kingdom has never spared any effort to realise joint Arab solidarity and the unity of the Arab and Islamic nations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For his part, Yanal said that Jordanian-Syrian relations are “going well” and that both countries are serious about enhancing these ties, pointing out that recent visits between the two sides have laid the foundation for strengthening commercial and economic relations.
