AMMAN — A drone crashed Thursday morning in Amman’s Abu Nuseir, causing damage to a vehicle and a bus stop shelter but resulting in no injuries, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
PSDsaid it had received several calls about falling objects in various parts of the Kingdom. All incidents were promptly handled by relevant teams.
In Abu Nuseir, the drone reportedly went down near commercial shops, PSD said, addingthat an investigation has been opened into the cause of the crash.
The PSD also said that a drone crashed in the Al Azraq District on Thursday, initially injuring a 12-year-old girl who was taken to hospital. A five-year-old child was later also admitted for treatment, bringing the total number of injuries to two. The crash caused material damage to three houses and two vehicles, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Relevant authorities moved to the scene and began dealing with and investigating the incident.
In a separate incident, PSD reported that a suspicious object fell on the roof of a school in Mafraq Governorate. There was no fire or injuries, as there were no students present at the time, only administrative staff, who evacuated the building upon hearing the sound, it said.
The PSD urged the public not to approach unidentified or suspicious objects, warning they may pose serious risks. Citizens are advised to report such findings immediately by calling the unified emergency number, 911, to allow specialized agencies to respond appropriately.
Since the start of Iran-Israel air war nearly a week ago, several flying objects have been spotted over several parts of the Kingdom, believed to be Iranian missiles and drones launched towards its arch foe.
