Dr Khalidi’s contributions recalled

AMMAN — HRH Princess Ghida Talal, chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Centre (KHCC), in the presence of HRH Prince Talal and HRH Princess Wijdan, on Wednesday attended a memorial ceremony in appreciation of the scientific and academic achievements of Dr Usama Al Khalidi.

Khalidi devoted his life to science and research and inspired an entire generation of Arab scientists and contributed to developing scientific institutions in Lebanon, Jordan and the Arab world, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Princess Ghida expressed happiness for naming the department of cellular treatment and applied genomes after Khalidi, describing the department as the most important and basic facility in diagnosing and treating cancer.
