AMMAN — Several public and private sector institutions and individuals have offered donations totalling around JD3.76 million as of Sunday for the fund to support the families of army and security officers who died in the line of duty, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The donations came in response to Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh’s recent announcement about opening an account at the Central Bank of Jordan for the fund to receive donations.
On Saturday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat met with Ziad Homsi, president of the Amman Chamber of Industry, which donated JD100,000 to the fund, Petra reported on Sunday.
